Michael E. Cowart

Michael E. Cowart, 76, of Ball Ground, died Aug. 4, 2012.

Michael was a member and past master of Ducktown Lodge No. 572 F&AM and Georgia Mountain Daylight Lodge No. 758.

His parents, Ulyesses and Annie Lee Cowart; brothers, James Cleveland Cowart, Jerry Leneal Cowart; and son, Kevin Cowart, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Sara Samples Cowart of Ball Ground; children, Joseph and Sally Woods of Coal Mountain, Suzanne and Bradley Evans of Ducktown; brothers, John Harold and Willene Cowart of Atlanta, Hugh Dorsey and Ruby Neal Cowart of Alpharetta, Kenneth Lamar and Jelane Cowart of Dawsonville; mother-in-law, Alma McGinnis Samples of Cumming; sister-in-law, Linda Buffington of Gainesville; grandchildren, Alexander Woods, Austin Woods, Christopher Woods, Dylan Evans; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Aug. 7 at Bethelview United Methodist Church with the Revs. Deborah Griffith and Nancy Meeker officiating. Interment with Masonic Rites followed at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery.

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
